As a government, the Ministry of Education is committed to providing access to high quality resources that support learning and teaching in Ontario schools. Bitstrips for Schools has been one of the Ministry’s more popular acquisitions with great uptake but unfortunately the vendor has decided to discontinue this product. The Ministry is working with the vendor to mitigate the premature end of services.

As a result of a recent procurement call for streaming video products, OSAPAC has recommended that the Ministry not renew the contract with NFB.

Please see the letter from NFB regarding this. The NFB has generously extended access to Ontario Educators to existing Campus accounts until June 30, 2016.

Letter to School Boards NFB

Naxos Music Library was the successful product in the procurement for an Online Audio Streaming product. The new contract is for up to five years. Ontario users should see no interruption on their current service during the transition to the new contract.

An integration between Naxos Music Library (NML) and the VLE allows for direct access to NML, Please ask your board’s District e-Learning Contact for information about the integration.

NML also has free apps for both the Android as well as the iOS environments. Both of them use the same account information as the website. For account information, please consult your board’s Operational Contact.
